NFS Shift problem

Hey VB. I noticed in the Xfire 5770 review you scored very high results. However, I just ran FRAPS and I am getting 29-34 FPS during a race. Now this is enough, but going on what I have read it's poor. Especially when you consider that the reviewed 5770s scored WAY more, probably closing in on double.

Can you please tell me (if you can remember !)

Which Cats you were running.

Which version of Physx you were using.

If there was anything else you needed to do to get those frames, or was it just an out of the box score?

isent the test system quite high end

i no it has a i7 heavly overclocked and that will help the fps,amongst other things to

Yeah but I have seen people with a Phenom X3 score the same on a single 5770.

Something's not right... Infact when I disabled AI (and Xfire) I scored pretty much the same only it was jerky.

So I have spent the last two damn hours searching for why this is happening.. Can't find anything. Then, buried at the bottom of a big pile of Google results I find where this dude says to rename it Grid (the exe that is).

And what would you know?

Must be an issue with Catalyst and the profiles then. I think the Crossfire profiles are a separate package to the Catalyst suite, did you install them already?

Let us know what driver version too, I'll be trying the same thing soon.

Yeah I installed 10.6 profiles, 10.7 and CAT 10.6 (10.7 = totally unstable on my PC).

You're right obs, it's definitely a profile problem because I installed all of the Shift updates too. Doesn't matter now though man, fast as heck ! esp on the ring

I've also been able to add 8x FSAA too, though I will probably wind that down as it makes it a bit fuzzy.

This game was notorious for hating ATI though. Right from the beginning !

If its capping out at 60 you just need to disable Vsync. But 60 is all your monitor can display anyways.

It's capping now yeah

Before though the max I was seeing was 34

With drops to 29 in race (when you were in a pack of cars for example). It's doubled now.
