Installed my prom on my new mobo (nf4 sli dr) yesterday, but I have to bend the tube in a way the tube hangs out of the case!!! To keep it in the case I have to force and bend very hard... Don't know if I should, how did you guys solve this problem? (Don't say you don't use a case :p)

Don't push to the side and close door!!!

I broke my first prommy be doing this, and also broke an Abit IC7 from doing this! (Damaged the board somehow due to increased pressure put on and around the socket!

Have a look on this forum for alternative solutions, such as bending the Mach tube, modding your case to increase the gap between prommy and case, or shortening the tube.

What kind of case do you guys have? Mine is a PC71 so I assume it is a bit larger than say a PC6x (right?). My prommy's tube is already touching the side panel in my case, and I'm using a P4C800E. The DFI socket is a bit lower, but I can't see why this might change the bending radius of the tube. Could you post some pictures?

Thanks

The prommy tube is a set length (ie cant compress it back into the case) and the distance between the edge of the case and the motherboard is a set length, so the lower socket position means you have spare lengths of tube which can only go outwards to prevent the closing of the door.

If you have a mach2 i would push it closed, if you have a mach1 i wouldnt risk the chance of causing a leak, and just run with the side panel off (well i do that most of the time anyway lol)

i was abit silly, i pushed it hard to the side and closed the door, caused an air gap and nearly lost a cpu, though it recovered and its all happy again now so hey just a word of warning. and i do just run the system with the side off but then i mostly did any way.
