Nexus 10 or iPad

Hey guys,

the parents wanted to know what tablet to pick up for Christmas as they want to treat themselves. I believe they'll mainly be using it for internet browsing and sharing photos etc.

Just wanted to gauge the opinion of you lot on these devices as they seem very closely matched and i'm not sure which one to suggest to them. Take into account ease of use will be a factor

iPad's are great toys
Other than me using mine to take notes, the novelty of playing games or anything like that wears off after a few weeks and you're left with an overprices internet browser....

They're incredibly easy to use though.

You thought about the Microsoft Surface at all?
I'm considering getting one to replace my iPad just because I think it will have more of a functional use other than just to make notes.

Yeah surface was another one i considered recommending to them but they seem incredibly pricey even compared to the iPad and nexus 10.

The iPad is easier for a novice to pick up and use. Plus there are loads and loads of apps. You will get less phone calls if they go with an iPad IMO.

I think a lot of it is because of the OS itself. But they are meant to sync really well with your PC so if it can do that it may just be more practical to use.

Surface or iPad would be the only 2 tablets I'd be thinking of buying

I would get an ipad. I'm an android user on the whole but Apple are still on top of the tablet market for me.

The galaxy has got a great resolution screen but the lighting isn't as good as it should be, particularly the contrast (which makes black more like purple at times). The ipad seems like a better package for what they need. The screen is only slightly smaller but looks better, they'll also have a better camera and better battery life.

Mhm the iPad is so easy to handle ... I really hate Apple but it's true really anybody can use it without any knowledge about it.
