Next gen Nvidia cards?

Heya,

Anyone that might perhaps know something about Nvidia’s next gen GPUs? Albeit, 1180, when it might be released, any info about it etc?...

The 1080 and 1070 was shown in May 2016. So probably may, but with no competition and extreme prices, why launch something new.

Don't expect anything new from Nvidia anytime soon, they don't need to release anything as the current offering has no competition

But its Nvidia, not Intel, so you never know :D If they keep hammering AMD, they will never catch up.

Only problem we gamers need to worry about is the miners that buy these cards and inflate the prices if it continues I'll stay with my 1070.

Of course they'll continue to release new products regardless of no competition. It's what the buyers and stockholders want after all.

See the quick news section, my last entry. April seems the likeliest. Pascal production has already ceased... *shifty eyes*

They will squeeze every last penny from pascal before we get the next gen

I just think they will milk it for all its worth, they are light years ahead of AMD so not under threat of anyone bring something better, so they are pretty much free to sit back and rake it in and who can blame them its what I would do.
There is no business sense to bringing out a better GPU when they have such a lead right now.

Based on...? Your dislike of Nvidia? - serious question.

They already have made their money and like I said, production has stopped. These are facts. ;)

Not a fact. It was a rumor.

Next Gen Nvidia cards will be out sometime this year and will more than likely be called something other than Ampere.

Let's wait and see if it's fact or a rumour ;) it is certainly a fact that the rumour mill is churning :p

Well, there's only one source outing the name Ampere, and one saying it's not (gamers nexus). It doesn't really matter to me, but for convenience I call it Ampere.

You say it as if the rumour mill is never churning? It always is.

Ampere never had a source to begin with. It was just more rumours.

New cards are coming this year. Everybody knows it. That's why the mill is churning harder than ever and producing click bait articles.

Agreed! I always, a bit here but more so on Anandtech, questioned the validity of the Ampere label. One article, no source. At the same time I choose to refrain from calling the upcoming consumer family Volta because of its HBM2 and tensor cores - more than ever it makes sense to differentiate between professional and consumer lines.

Simultaneously I like the rumour mill (it excites me) and dislike it (I prefer facts); it conflicts me.

As for milking, I am convinced they have, and it happens everywhere (name any product, from GPUs to tooth brushes). Wouldn't anyone? I would as a business owner, I dislike it as a consumer though. However it doesn't matter whether I like it or not; it is as it is.

rumours are abundant spotted one you tuber hinting that new card series will be launch mid April with possibly 6 series memory not hbm2
