"CoolIT Systems, famous for high performance liquid cooling systems is going to show new products at CES. To be more precise, four new products will be showcased at this year's show.

CoolIT will show Freezone Elite, which is a TEC cooler bundled with the so called MTEC Control Center and dual TEC graphics card cooling solution branded Dual Drive Bay VGA Cooler. Next in line is the pre-assembled CPU water cooling kit branded PURE CPU cooler, which will mark CoolIT's entrance to affordable CPU cooling market since the suggested price for PURE is "just" $134.99.

Last, but not least, is the Boreas MTEC chassis based on the Silverstone TJ-07 aluminum tower case packed with CoolIT system and a price tag of $949. The Freezone Elite will cost around $449.99, and the Dual Bay VGA cooler gets a suggested price of $299.99.

CoolIT is certainly going to get a lot of attention during CES, at least from the water cooling enthusiasts."

TEC isn't that like phase cool or something? Anyway some of those things look dead interesting for people who want liquid but don't want to assemble it their selves.

Gotta love the built in WC'ing on that case though, it will most likely be poor at cooling but its nice and clean.

TEC = thermoelectric cooling/er.

Im torn on these. Normaly TECs just ain't worth the effort imo. But im staying reserved on coolits stuff till either me or one of the others gets one to review.

Read that earlier... (We have it in the News Inbox). ;)

Ham.. you are the god of cooling, if you think they are worth a chance.. I am interested.

I've seen these (or something similar) on ebay loads of times :(

Don't they have them in some alienware and/or dell pc's or something?

I remember looking at a review and the temps didn't look that much better than a average watercooling setup :(

Altho they were really expensive (£350+)

For $134.99 I guess they might be ok as it is an all-in-one solution

edit:

The intel stock cooler looks similar to the freezone on low? :( (wonder how noisy the 92mm fan is on high - says 43dBa :( )

Hmm.. I'm reserving my opinion on these at the moment!

The main problem i see with the TEC 2x VGA cooler thing is its kinda geared towards people who dont want to "do anything" with there system they just want to plug it in and leave it...

Now this may just be me but i wouldnt recommend TEC cooling to anyone who wants an Install and forget cooling sollution it's just madness!

Would anyone here buy one of the CoolIT kits ?

That's what I was thinking.

I think the people who would maybe buy these would be the same people who would buy a cooler master aquagate or a thermaltake aquabay/aquarius.

If it was cheap enough and performed well, but looking at the reviews it looks noisy and doesn't perform well at all :(

Also the blocks look a bit meh

Would be interesting to see a test on the GPU system I guess

Yip well said.. Blocks don't look great, they remind me of what we used to get in pre installed kits 4 or 5 years ago which "gladly" Thermaltake pulled most of the pre installed kits out of that league into a more pleasing kit.. Having said that they still don't perform that well either.

Would be interesting to see a test on the GPU system I guess

It's got to be the only one with potential, i hope this is the one you are receiving Matt ?

We currently stock the "current" range of coolit solutions (see here) and have found the eliminator which is the low end cooler aimed to the dual core market to be a great seller - admittedly these units do not handle quad core but we also have the Coolit Elite and Boreas in R&D at the moment and expect the first retail delivery shortly.

In short the upcoming Elite and Boreas will make a considerable dent on the water cooling market as in tests the units have been very effective and allowed great overclocks.

Regarding the "are TEC's safe with Noob's" the answer is yes the units are preset not to go below ambiant where problems with condensation but the advance user can also push these units to the extreme and the boreas goes below ambient with ease ;)

The only slight niggle we have with these units is they can be a tad noisy but we are working with coolit to address these issues.

a good testiment to the cooling power of these units is this ;)

no but they've sent me plenty of emails....

I have made a request for a couple of the CoolIT units, one of which was for the GPU setup. According to CoolIT we'll have a delivery just after CES 2008....so not long at all :)
