New water cooling mistake

I was curious about my temps, while reading various posts on getting my 950 to a good OC, that they were a tad high. The more I read the more I thought I had a problem. So in my curiousity I figured I would reseat my CPU block with new thermal paste and see what happens.

I AM AN IDIOT..to say it politely to myself.

As I was cleaning the block to reapply, I had left the plastic film over the block. I am very surprised that I had not burned out my CPU.

For those that are venturing into water cooling, make sure you double check your double checks on parts and assembly. I just saved mine.

Let the abuse commence on my stupidity.

I assume that is why the benchmark in your signature never made it past 4.02Ghz........

LOL.. dont think I have ever forgot a cooler, except back in the days of old when you could fire a pc up without one just to test.

around 15-20C from what i remember, under load. Around 10-15 idle

How the bloody hell did you do that?

As in get to 4.5ghz all i can get to is 4.2ghz.
