New SysXtreme Theme Goes Live!!

Hi Guys,

It seems like i've been working on this new skin for months (but in reality about a week).

Its still a work in progress, so don't judge is so hard just yet. I've got lots to do around the site, and this is what you can expect in the next month.

1) A fully completed homepage (portal).

2) A bit more tidying up on the forum skin.

3) A new rig/picture gallery

4) All SX sites integrated with same theme and layout.

5) A 'Members Only' Upload Server

6) A Downloads site for popular overclocking tools (cheers frag)

7) WAP Working again.

8) Integrated email system.

You may have also noticed that we have branched out a bit into the Car arena with 'fastcarforums.com'. This forum is actually run by a friend of mine (Ins), and we thought it a good idea to broaden the SX appeal to also modding/tuning cars :)

congrats on a allready great forum! looks as though you are gonna make it even better though keep up the good work your doing an excellent job :) :wavey:

Ya know what - it really would help if i actually enabled the new theme for members before posting about it - ROFL.

That looks nice. The big problem I had was it was hard to find a way to just view the forum index. Now that it has the link I like it alot more.

Love it so far Jim. The portal page is coming along very nicely, such a much needed addition.

I'll get your new license key for WiFo here in a few mins and send it to ur MX email addy so u can get that working again.

Whats the word on SSH? I imagine we have it now :D
 
Looking pretty nice man. Few things though (I may just be blind or my browser is messed):

1. The smiley buttons when posting aren't working. I click on them, the cursor goes bye bye but no smiley syntax thing. also, when I put the mouse cursor over them, there's no clicky hand thing-a-ma-bob. Finally, when I click on the "More" button, the little window doesn't pop up anymore. It just moves you to the top of the page. Edit: just noticed this is the case with ALL of the buttons (bold, underline, font, etc)

2. Where's the Rig Gallery?!?!?!?!

3. It would be nice if there was a "Forum" button on the header bar when you're not in the Home page. I've been having to go to Home, then click on the Forum button from there

i don't like having to click on quick reply to post one personally, and the white background is a bit bright.. other than that, i love it :)

I have to agree with that is we could just type in the box it would be much simpler.

Noted. But there is a reason for the need to click on the Quick Reply button.

For people that use the linear view (where is shows all the posts as subdirectories of eachother), if you disable the Quick Reply button, it doesnt know what post you are replying to, and therefore just sticks it at the bottom of the thread. Meaning that the whole thread is just a mish-mash of posts with no order.

1. They seem to work fine for me in firefox. Try clearing your browser cache.

2. As above, a new rig gallery is under development. I basically started fresh after the upgrade to the latest forum software. It was the best course of action.

3. Click on the SysXtreme logo on the top left. But i will get something better sorted. All the links do need to be fixed up. Its just going to take a while to tweak it all ;)
 
I like the portal. It has a more professional feel now than just a message board.

You should change the "New Post" button at the top to "New Posts" :)

Ooh, clearing the cache worked like a charm, thanks man :D :worship:

Edit: Damn! Found another problem, but as no one else has complained guess it's all me. When I log out, it always gives me an error, so I have to click the link to log out. kinda annoying
 
I really like the look of it so far!!

although i think any Stickys should have a divider between them and the normal threads and this next one wont be popular but signature size limit - just because i think to people with dial up and low screen resolutions its going to be a problem :p

Just an idea.

apart from that it RAWKS !! well done!

EDIT: maybe a avatar size limit! *looks at Danni's massive avatar!*

EDIT2: you guys who know hexus will know that you now have a My Rig or what ever it says under your avatar so you can just click that to see some ones pc - thats also a cool idea.
