New System

Hi All,

In september i am going build a new system and would like your recommendations as to what route take i.e. Intel 3.2Ghz EE or AMD FX53 939.

I need recommendation for all the parts needed for a whole system and i will be going the phase change route for the cpu and watercooling for the chipset and gfx with a 80w pelt.

Any help would be great.

i think it should be 3.4ee or fx53. closer in performance.

i'd still prefer the fx53 - because its unlocked and cheaper than the 3.4 EE

however there are still some benchmarks that are better on the pentium. mainly encoding, disk processing and graphics work.

well make the same post in september mate...bit pointless doing it now isnt it?

its a long way till september and were gonna have more boards-ram-gfx cards and cpus hopefully with reviews etc in order to make the best choises

I'd agree - I started looking around Xmas and was thinking about 3.2c or 3.2e Prescott, the 9800XT and 5950 were the graphics cards of choice, the Mach II GT was unavailable, the 74 GB Raptor was not out either. I reckon I changed my processor choice at least 3 times, HDD waited and got 74GB Raptors and graphics bought Connect 3D 9800XT then sold it before I used it and ordered an X800XT cos its at least 50% faster. It's never gonna stand still - if you want the best it'll cost a load and there will soon be something better and prob cheaper. The only thing with a bit of 'life' seems to be the P & C Turbo 510 Deluxe PSU - so it's worht STARTING to look now, but prepare to change your ideas a few times!
