New Speakers time.

I dont think im asking much tbh, I have microlab solo 9c's and they have been mostly great, Sound and all is fine but was a bit ticked off when the optical broke, I only use that for minidisc recording but still

Anyway these microlab 9c's are just too big and i want to downsize but still have great quality sound, Im now closer to the monitor as i have an asus PG348Q now and the 9c's are for more distant listening, Also I want them to be loud but i only use 50 volume on the speakers and for general listening it rarely goes over 10% on the desktop, When im being silly i dont go past 60% on the desktop.

What is your budget - that's the first question.
What are you looking for, 2.1, 2.0, etc.

I have the Microlabs FC330 and i'm very happy with it given the price.
Only problem i have with it is that it hums when it is on and there is no sound playing through it, whether it's plugged in to the audio source or not. Only way for it to stop humming is to turn it off. But then again, i dont know if its a problem with my sample or everything is affected.

Also that hum just depends on how the speakers are made i guess, typically happens at max volume on the speaker dial, does it hum at like 20% volume on the speakers? and if so quieter? I had noticeable hum on my 7c's but my 9c's have none, And im sure it was like that before i had £120 worth of cables set around it.

Sorry for kind of hijacking your thread But erm it still hums no matter where the volume dial is set to. Im come to the conclusion that it's because "you get what you pay for" kind of thing.

Regarding your hunt for 2.0s, i dont really have the best experience regarding them. I was just giving my two pence on the current one i have now.
Im sure someone with alot more experience will come and help you soon
