New Sound Card!

After a new sound card, it's for my HTPC, so it's not needed for games. It needs to have internal spdif pin header as i have a x1600 hdmi card that carries the audio through the cable.

Only needs to be a budget one as i will be getting a receiver when i can afford it.

This is the cable that i need to plug into it

Any recommendations?

Pretty sure most decent sound cards should have spdif. Auzentech's are pretty cheap if it's not for gaming :)

you sure you mean auzentech's as the cheapest i've seen is about £120

i have an Audigy 2 ZS Platinum sitting on my desk, it is used and in flawless condition needless to say, h/e i doubt with shipping it would be cheaper

The X-Mystique is the least expensive of the Auzentech cards and you should be able to find it in the UK for approx. 40-50 quid. The one you found for 129 is probably the X-Meridian which is the total domination.

Also check to see if you can find the new Bluegears card, it's inexpensive and uses the same chipset as the X-Meridian without all of the extra features that the X-Meridian offers, and it sells for under $100 in the states.

Sorry for the waste of a thread, but i've decided to just use vga to my tv (even though its a much lower resolution)and a analog sound connection till i can afford to get a decent av receiver with some good speakers, at which point i'll get a decent sound card.

Thanks for your imput mind you, hmmmm BQQ pizza
