New screen ~ £100

Good morning chaps,

I'm looking to get a new monitor as my current 17" is dying quite a painful death. I can still see my desktop background most of the time, it's pretty old and has had a decent life though.

However as a student my cash is fairly limited, I'm looking for something around £100. I've been having a google about and seen that really at my price range I'm in the 19" to 20" widescreen end of the market. Tbh I'm happy getting something of that size. I've also found that DVI is probably the thing to be going for but looks as though it's just about out of my price range. I have found this Samsung which offers it:

SM2033SW

Do I got for this or do I go for a cheaper 19"/20" vga screen? Something maybe like this:

benQ lotsofnumbersandletters

I haven't really got the cash to stretch the budget as anything else on top of a ton is going to eat in to my hdd and sound card fund. As I don't intend to upgrade my graphics card this side of summer I don't think a bigger res is really worth investing in right now.

Any help would be great, cheers!

Cheers guys :)

I've been doing a little research, I think I may try to bump my budget up a little little. I'm going to stick around 1440/1600 so I don't have to immediately justify getting a new graphics card :p

Just FYI my 8800GT powers both a 22" and 24" with no problems.

Graphics tech dont move like it used too! /waves walking stick

Well after a little look about I settled on this samsung:

T200 20"

And so far I'm very impressed, can't believe I've lived so long with a 4:3 screen. The picture is really sharp and colourful, glad I went for something with a DVI input. The body of the screen looks first rate, the power button is touch sensitive and importantly has no silly bright on/off light :)

Luckily enough it runs TF2 at full settings at around 60fps, so luckily don't need to shell out a new graphics card to go with.

ive got the t220 of this and its brill but i have to be real honest it took me 4 hours to figure out how to turn it on because i didn't read the Manuel that said touch sensitive button lol ...
