I so want this!
256GB is freaking great. Even 128 would do for the OS and some programs. Not enough space for all my games, though. But I can prolly trim those down and live with just 128MB in my main rig.
I have all raw data on a NAS, anyways, so I don't hear the rattling of the "old" hard-disks in the room next door. But having NO moving parts besides the water-pump in my PC would be just so incredibly awesome.
I guess they cost like 2000 bucks, though. German resellers only have 64GB SSds which are already above 1000 EUR. Damn

Yeah, a 90% price-drop would make them affordable 
I have 6 SATA ports on my mobo so here is my idea.
Go to eBay buy 4x SATA-CF adaptors, buy 4x 32Gb CF cards and 2x 1Tb Samsung F1.
RAID 0 the CFs to form 128Gb SSD and use the 1Tb drives to take over storage from my 320Gb disks.
Total cost: 4x £6 + 4x £74 + 2x £93 = £506 inc VAT and delivery
Looks like I'm gonna be saving up again

Actually sounds too good to be true... I really want to hit SSD for O/S and one or two games, so 64GB should be great as for storage they'll all be on F1's anyways, was thinking about the new raptor... but... seems to be another avenue worth exploring!!!
Anyone knew the write/read times of these cards???
