Hi

I'm thinking about bying a new computer to replace my old ibm intellistation zpro 6223. Witch really strugle to run games.

So what I'm thinking about is to by cpu, ram, psu, mobo, ssd, case now and wait for kepler until i by gpu, and maby custom watercooling

The parts I'm tinking about is:

Sabertooth x79

I7 3930k

32gb of corsair vengeance 1600mhz ram

Corsair ax850 with the black pre-sleeved cables

Corsair performance pro 128gb ssd (x2 raid0)

When kepler arrives i think about x2 680 sli.

But im not shure about case, i realy like the look of the fractal design r3, and the corsair 650d.

I realy hate all kinds if light in a pc.(im even running my k90 keyboars without the horrible blue light) But i would like a case thats good for watercooling. And i allso hate all kinds of "fanzy" design. And plz no white case. Im not bying annything else than a black case.

Anny ide what i could get?

Ive also looked at the golden vengeance ram, and the colour loks pretty much the same as the colour thats on the sabertooth motherbord, is that correct? It would look awesome if the colour is the same with 8dims if thatone and 8 dims of the grey one.

Is there anny thing elses to say about tge system, or does it look nice

welcome to the premier forum of knowledge.

case is a styling preference for your taste. we could offer days of suggestions and not hit your

palette. youve seem to have come to the basics of CPU, system board and RAM. and youve mentioned

water-cooling in a black case with no lighting to amplify your work. so functionality of the system

and sub-systems cant be too dark or you wont be able to show it off. this will be sorta tough but doable.

will be looking forward to your rig log...

again welcome to the forum.

The reason why i don't want lights in my case is:

1. It looks like shit

2. My whole room looks like shit.

The reason why i want watercooling, is not because it look "cool" but because of the cooling performance, and the fact that its quiet if you run big rads and low speed fans.

Because of "pairent problem" i need to wait until the spring/summer, before i by the system, But buildlog will come

hopfully i will be able to speak my parrents to allow me to by it earlyer,

Anny idea that could help me here?

But as nVIDIA and Intel releas shedual it looks like the system will look pretty much the same then.

About the case, I've looked at the cases that have been liked to, but i didn't like them :/

The apsolut ultimate case would look like the Fractal Design XL, maby a window, but not nessesary, but have te cooilng abilities as the Silverstone TJ11, with the rad mounting ETC.

And, last of all, annyone know about colour of the RAM?

How much money would you spend on a case? Various capable water cooling cases can cost in the region of £150 (switch 810), £210 (800D) or even over £300 (Cosmos II).

As for the RAM, the golden vengeance is probably the closest colour match to the sabertooth (personally i think the gold vengeance would look really nice in the sabertooth)

but as of now, nothing is bought and all of this is in planning stages.

start off with an air system and then move into a WC system. this will

free up some cash on a better case and then move the WC into operation.

i would say that about 250£ pound (2000-2500NOK)i about a fair max for case, but if theres an just perfect case i could go further.

thanks for the answare about the RAM, then i problaby going to go with bought the grey and the golden, just to compleat the "theme" on the MoBo.

the plan was to start and running the system on air, then buy water when i get the money for that

Apart from the cases already mentioned and the ones you've said you don't like the only other one that i can think of for around that price or less would be the Xigmatek Elysium.

If i strech the budget a little what cases do you sugest?

Sins i can use my IBM Z-PRO case untill i'm going to by watercooling

about the cosmos i just HATE it

it is one hell of a disgusting cast(my oppinion) but then i'm not the cind of person that likes this cind of "ailen" theme thing on cases. i like more the clean look, like the 650d form corsair and fractal design r3/xl

dugdiamond: take a look here

Seeing as you like clean looking cases i'm surprised you don't like the Shinobi XL, would probably be the best case for you.

Also, i'm not sure on the Fractal R3 & XL's water cooling capabilities, and seeing as your not a fan of the Shinobi you may want to look into what is possible with the R3 or XL.

as far as i know the fractal design cases are the most hostile cases for watercooling that is to get.

But i realy dont know wat the problem with the Shinobi XL, it is hust somthing about it that i dont like, i have no idea why,

I've been looking around and found out that the Lian Li PC-A71F looks like an OK case,

it allso looks like thes posibility to fit the PSU in the top, and remove the of the HDDbay, and mood an 360 rad to the bottom and fit an 240 in the front.

allso painting the inside black sholdn't be an too big issue.

annybody know about the build qualitiy of LianLi cases?
