Hi Guys.

I've spent the last few weeks designing this system.

I'm finally happy with it. I was wondering if someone would just go over it with me and criticise some of my decissions.

MY budget is 1400 Pounds however i must have a 24" benq monitor in there so its just over 1250 for the actual system.

The system is to run WYSIWYG (Lighting design program), Chamsys MagicQ aswel as a media server. (entertainment industry)

It is however going to be my personal PC and I will be using for it games. Mainly FSX as I have games consoles for the rest of them (....i sort of feel i might be slated for that)

Here we go...

ASUS CROSSHAIR IV EXTREME ROG Edition 890FX Socket AM3 Extended ATX Motherboard

AMD Phenom II X6 1100T Black Edition 3.3 GHz Socket AM3 6MB Cache Retail Box Processor

Corsair Vengeance 16GB (4x4GB) DDR3 1600Mhz CL9 1.5V Non-ECC Unbuffered

ASUS HD 6950 2GB GDDR5 Dual DVI HDMI Dual DP Out Graphics card

Coolermaster HAF X Case

Coolermaster GX 750W PSU - 6x SATA 2x PCI-E 80plus Certified

Samsung HD103SJ Spinpoint F3 1TB Hard Drive SATAII 7200rpm 32MB Cache

Theres all the usual bits and bobs aswell ...screen, optical drives, keyboard mouse, cables .etc but thats the bulk.

I really need to get this ordered in the next 24 hours as I have to make the banks before they close for new year and beat the VAT increase.

Any help appreciated ...any non compatabillity .etc. I had a nightmare matching the RAM to the motherboard and the ram im using isnt on the approved QVL list. I get the impression that there fussy and the ASUS community seem to suggest to find some one who has it working ...which isnt much help.

Thanks

Jimmy

you might want to switch ur gpu choice over to the green team as they have cuda, the crosshair extreme sucks and not worth the extra over the normal one, not a fan of the case, the psu is a big over powered for what u will use it for and its not a great brand look @ corsair mate

alternately u can get this

Intel i7 950 (overclock it to 4ghz pretty easy)

12gb Mushkin Redline Ridgebacks

Asus Sabertooth or Gigabyte GA-X58A-UD3R Rev 2

Noctua NH-D14

Nvidia GTX570

Corsair 750w is maybe overkill but incase u plan on adding another gpu in the future make it an 850 (TX HX AX are all top quality bits of kit)

and case wise its all your own personal preference
