New RAM kit doesn't boot into the BIOS.

So my new RAM arrived today and I installed it, the computer does turn on but the problem is it doesn't boot into the BIOS. Plugged in my old RAM and everything works.

My specs list is in my signature.

I've updated the BIOS that should have more memory compatibility in ASUS' website and still no luck :(

The new RAM is a Kingston HyperX 2x4GB 1866Mhz.

Am I correct to think that it should underclock normally? Could it be that my motherboard cannot run that frequency?

Thanks in advance,
Sean.

EDIT: I tried taking out the RAM out and resetting the CMOS, still doesn't boot into the BIOS.

That RAM speed is definitely not supported but I thought it would have underclocked assuming you used the right slots.

Yeah I thought it would have underclocked too and they were in the right slots.

What a bummer :(

*sigh* Guess I gotta get 1333mhz ones...

HyperX 1866Mhz does not support 1066Mhz which is the native speed on your mobo. This probably causes the mobo to fail to boot iirc the ram has to support the native speed to pass Post.

Yeahh, I thought it was gonna underclock tbh but not the case :(

I've decided to exchange it for the 1333MHz kit, Amazon is collecting it tomorrow :D
