Yesterday at CeBit ECS announced two new motherboards based on the Intel 975X and 845GT chipsets. The boards feature the new mPGA479M socket and are designed to be run with the Intel Core Duo and Core Solo processors (Conroe, Yonah, Merom, etc.). The two new boars are the PF23 and the 945GT-M. The PF23 is CrossFire compatible and touted as being overclocker friendly. We all know that ECS and "overclock friendly" don't exactly go hand in hand but it's a start! At least we have a glimmer of hope compared to Aopens offerings which don't have any OC options in the BIOS. The ECS overclocking system is very Abit-like as its an "auto overclock" type system called Intstant Overclocking Controller.
This is definately a step in the right direction. People are getting antsy for mPGA479M boards to test their new Yonah's on. Depending on who comes out with the first readily availabing boards this might be one that I look at if it's released soon.
