I'm currently using a Moto G3 that is ok but sadly has the issue of corrupting wmicro SD cards and likes to freeze now and than.

What I'm looking in a phone is
good built quality
Long battery life
5inch screen

I really only use a mobile as a MP3 player using power amp as well as the usual social apps
Don't game at all.
No need in high end phone would go to waste on me
Will look at iOS (older iPhones) as well as windows 10 phonea

I did own a Sony xa ultra loved the screen size (6inch) but hated the battery and would flex due to the thin plastic body

Please no Samsung phones ..hate all the bloat ware as well as lack of updates (owned S4,S5 and s6)

Well if you go iOS you can say good bye to Power amp. Its an awesome player.

As for terminal, I can go on forever on all the phones I have tested, since its part of my job. Quite surprised to see you have owned the S4,5 and 6 and didn't add Cyanogen to it to remove the bloatware tbh.

I'm currently testing the Galaxy A7 which is a quaint little phone over 60% cheaper than the flagship model S8(+). Maybe take a look on google with it before you write off samsung completely.

Failing that,

Google Pixel
Sony Xperia X compact
Moto E4 - no issues with SD cards when I tested
Oneplus X
LG Phoenix (ultimate budget phone tbh) but not sure if it deserves to have power amp
Moto G5
LG X This one surprised me as being pretty damn good. Just didn't like the "fake Metal" to it. Fake metal or not, quality was still decent.

I would advise you to look at the chinese android phones. I have used a cubot X12 for 18 months now. Its a great little smartphone for the £66 I paid for it from Amazon 4G dual sim etc the only gripe I have is only 1gb of ram but it has served my needs for a smartphone. Xiaomi are also a good make although I would suggest that Warchild advised to get rid of the bloatware.

Link to Cubot smartphones currently on Amazon :)
