Hello!
Let's talk about computers, specifically my computer. Or soon to be computer.
I will buy my new rig in about 2 months so still time to think things through.
I've made this build: http://pcpartpicker.com/p/3Ent0
The total budget is currently at 2150€ which is about 3000 usd. I would like to get it under 2000€, but we can't get it all.
I'm located in Finland, which means expensive components and 2 years behind everyone else
The rig will mainly be used for gaming and some videomaking/editing. Basically what I want is to update and not cry over the graphics in three years time. (Although I probably will). I dunno about reasolution, probably 1920x1080. I will be playing games like Elder Scrolls Online, Destiny, Final Fantasy XV (when they're released) stuff like Starcraft 2, perhaps Diablo 3 and the like. Not really into pure FPS games like BF or CoD..
I have not included an OS in the budget, since I'm pretty sure I have some win7 license lying around somewhere. The only components that I can use and is up to date is my Phonic Firefly external firewire soundcard and Genelec 8020A studio monitors, along with some other speakers and a woofer. I've hooked my old rig up to the 42" that I'm using with wireless keyboard and mouse.
Btw my old rig is really old, like 7 years. We're talking AMD Opteron 165, Asus A8n32 socket 939, Geforce 7600GT etc.
I will be trying to overclock, reach hopefully somewhere in the 4,6 GHz vicinity with the CPU. Also the videocard a bit.
I'm going for a white/blue theme on the rig (the red Coolermaster fan is supposed to be blue) and will perhaps be doing some modding like larger side window etc.
The radiators will both have push and pull, (if there's enough room in the Phantom 530) with the 360mm rad in the top, with the 2x200mm LED fans above (the steel case but under the plastic roof) and 3x120mm below. The 240mm rad in the bottom, next to the PSU with 2x120mm above and below. This will hopefully make a good airflow aswell, drawing cool air from the bottom and pushing it up. This makes a total of 5x120mm Arctic cooling fans, 2 x Coolermaster 200mm fans and 2x 120mm EK fans. Is this too overkill?
Anyways what do you think? What would you change and why? Watercooling ok or is it too much? Can you have too much?
Apreciate your thoughts and inputs
