New Leaked Crysis Screenies

They are really, really good looking.

Any word on what GPU ran these? Or they strap two X2 5000s together and program then speicaly?

Crysis looks awesome. Apparently they've got the physics running on one core and all the other stuff running on another.

I think they're using 7950GX2's for their demo kit but we'll see :)

Crysis will most likely make maximum work out of whatever CPU you have. The game will run fine on current, single-core CPUs, but it will take advantage of the latest multicore CPUs, as well. Yes, that means Crysis is multithreaded, which means that it can make maximum use out of dual-core systems. Where's all that processing power going? Well, part of the CPU's

even with optimized code, the X360/PS3 are not going to have the kind of graphics horsepower required to run this game the way people are going to want to play it. This is the kind of game you're going to want dual or quad SLI DX10 cards for

The only reason why I said that is because my friends are always saying how much it kicks a PC's ass because it is so much cheaper and so on. But don't you need an HD ready TV in order to display it's full potential? If you don't have one it will set you back a pretty penny

Bit like you need a very nice monitor to take advantage of top-end computer :)

why is that kemp?

i dont see how that works because it will look the same except larger on a bigger/better screen?:eh:

cheers.

I think Kemp means that its pointless having Crossfire X1900XTX's if you're going to run your screen in 1024x768.

To push a top-end rig to its limits you really need a big screen with big resolutions.

I certainly agree that you don't need a big monitor for games to look great - NFSMW looks lush as anything on my 17"er

for those of you talking about the cpu strain, please remember that the xbox360 has a Custom IBM PowerPC CPU with 3 symmetrical cores running at 3.2 GHz each and that only 2 are in use at the moment by current games. that gives some lee-way. after all, i doubt games will be tri-threaded as the next jump in mainstream cpu's is to quad-core. that means that the 3rd core will probably be used for the physics gruntwork, and everyone knows how good powerPc chips are for this :) after all its used in the super computers of today to do physics calculations for weather prediction and so on.
