New keyboard suggestions (non gaming)

Appologies for posting in here, but I couldn`t resist after seeing Satellites spelt wrong, don`t even think this spelling is right tbh - I had to look it up in a Welsh dictionary lol (anywho move it if u like Mr Mod)

Anywho, I constantly use 2 pcs at home (the other 2 have a server keyboard and monitor via a kvm), 1 is for gaming- which I use a G15 and am very happy with it. But atm I`m using a stolen HP stock usb keyboard for the web based thingy.

What I`d like is a new one that feels great for typing, preferably lit, and nice linkies please :) Doesn`t need loads of multimedia stuff and easily put out of the way when I wanna bust a game out.

TIA - don`t forget the links !!

Yeah I got one of those Dell ones in work (got boxes of em), kinda similar feel to the old Mac ones.

I was looking for one that perhaps `feels` like a Macbookpro semi-slick, bit of lighting, not bothered with media stuff (don`t use it tbh).

Try and get a feel of a Saitek - will say tho it doesn`t look `nice` to me >.<

The Saitek is awesome to type on tbh mate, I just think it's a little too dear for non-gaming.

Apple?

These are sposed to be very "laptop-like" keys and nice if that floats your boat:

Mates got one of these and loves it, little dear though:

hehe the kinky and flexi ones :p

I like the look of that Enermax one, not ~that~ bothered if it`s more expensive than normal, as I tend to work w/desktop stuff from home too, so I can call it an expense also. This the one(s) Frag had b4 ??

Didn`t honestly think about trying a newer Mac one, I`ll see if there`s one I can borrow to try out.

Nice suggestions.

I've recently got myself one of these: Logitech Wave. And i've gotta say, it's pretty slick. Not got the lighting you were after, but for typing and overall use, i feel it's not half decent. A couple of media buttons (the usual selection) and a built in semi-squishy wrist rest.

I thouroughly rate it.

Also comes wired, wireless and as a combo set (possibly wired & unwired)..

Not the easiest thing to hide away mind, as it feels a bit bigger than most keyboards.

I`ve got one almost-very similar to that from microsoft. They aren`t bad keyboards. F keys in banks of 3 takes a while to get used to as a gamer - but of course I`m not gonna game on this one.

Is that one of those silica-gel type rest things ? urgh, gives me the creeps >.< lol

If this is aimed at me... Then yeah, it IS a bit siliconey.. It's a smooth but grippy texture if y'get me, not more than 2mm deep either so its seems quite solid. Nothing like the big lumps of doughey stuff you get on the'proper' wrist rests...

I can honestly say the nicest kb for typing is an MS board, dubbed under stone in collage. I'll get a model number in a few hours when im in the right room.

Using a dell now and imo its horrid. everything is too close and a swear the keys are a tad smaller, but thats prob my imagination...

Any one here have any personal reviews of the Logitech DiNovo Edge keyboard. I might purchase one very soon as they look awesome!

(Holy thread revival!)

Anywho, searching the forums here for Jim`s pic of the Apple aluminium keyboard he either had or was gonna get.. came across some funny episodes of threads made in 2k5 banging the mac vS pc, then some 2k7 threads about how the mac stuff is the sex, pretty amuzing - BUT this is not what I`m after..

I`ve gotten an Apple aluminum keyboard, straight from a G5 xeon 8 core beast that didn`t need it. Plugged it into and XP at work and it worked fine, usb hub etc - marvellous.

Plugged it into Vista.. "I have absolutely no idea what this device is!"

Had a quick look about for drivers, some dood said about sticking in Leopard, or anything 10.4.x+ and there are drivers on there.. skeptical as I was, I tried it and Vista won`t read the hfs (no big supperize there).

So whilst I look about, anybody done this and it worked ? I can`t believe for the life of me that a vista online search came up with nothing.
