New headphones :)

So I was wearing my Klipsch S4's while shopping in bham. Had to carry a crate back and I lost one of the earpieces. Ordered some new ones, but the cabling is a bit dodgy, so I decided to go for some new headphones.

The ones I settled on were the Shure SE215's, got them off Amazon for £70. From what I can tell these are entry level in-ears for Shure, I let them burn in when I went out partying yesterday, and I have to say they are pretty amazing. The cabling is extremely solid, the ear tips are sort of memory foam, and you forget they are actually in.

Quite heavy on bass, but not too much so, I like them anyway

Specs:

  • Speaker type: Single Dynamic MicroDriver
  • Sensitivity (1 kHz): 107 dB SPL/mW
  • Impedance: 20 Ω
  • Frequency range: 22 Hz - 17,5 kHz
  • Cable length: 162 cm
  • Color: clear, black
Anyone else had good/bad experiences with Shure models? I'm pretty pleased with these

how do they compare to the s4s? Ive herd from a mate the shure use studio quality stuff from marantz apparently there a really good brand.

I might buy some for christmas

In terms of build quality the Shures are far better. Also the tips are a sort of memory foam thing, they mould to your ears when you wear them, then get back to their normal shape after. That makes them so comfortable, they've never fallen out yet so far, they are almost glued in lol. The sound is not wildly different, the S4s for their price are stunning, the high end is a bit more comfortable to listen to than on the S4s. The bass is a very strong point for the Shures too. I still have the S4s, when I get my replacement buds it will be a bit easier to compare.

They look good, I like Klipsch as well just the build quality on the S4 wasn't particularly good, but on better models it is.

I thought about getting a Cowon MP3 player, but using PowerAMP on Android gives you just about everything you need. When I get a soundcard for my PC then it should sound even better, I have a Creative X-FI USB soundcard which my mate gave me, don't know how to use it properly yet though

That's why I have an iphone they have one of the best headphone amps in an mobile device.

I'm sure I'll consider one when I upgrade next, Galaxy SII is by no means bad though, these headphones just keep getting better and better as I burn them in though, the bass is on another level compared to the S4s I had before.

From what i heard the Samsung galaxy phones use the same headphone amp as the iphone4. But in order to access it's full potential you have to ROOT and get the some AMP ROM.
