New Gigabyte Z68 MoBo with 3570k - Will it work?!

The title says it all - unfortunately I have been unable to find information regarding my dilemma.

I am looking to upgrade my system from an Asus Crosshair IV Formula, AMD Phenom II 955 and GTX 260 to a...

Gigabyte Z68X-UD4, Intel 3570k and GTX 660Ti.

The issue I am unsure of is whether I would be able to flash the BIOS with the Ivy Bridge CPU (so that it will run properly and OC'ing options become available), or whether I would need a Sandy Bridge CPU to do this...

Any help would be much appreciated.

It shall work fine Although, may I ask, why have you chosen this board, when Z77 boards are relatively cheap?

Yeah as josh says, As far as I am aware Z77 boards are actually cheaper than Z68, May I suggest the MSI Z77A G45?

I'm going with that board because you can get it B_Grade on OCUK for £75 (£75 off) and my entire build is black and white themed so it's one of the few boards that caters to that colour scheme. If you think Z77 is really worth it I may take a more in depth look at it but from what I've heard, there really isn't much of a difference once the BIOS is flashed?
