New Case Needed

Hi everyone, been a while since I was on here, just been really busy with stuff at Uni and my rig got sorta sidelined, but I'm almost through with exams + I'm looking to upgrade my case because I'm getting really bored with my Antec 900. I've decided to get shot of the whole "bling flashing lights" gamer thing and go for something monolithic like a Lian-Li.

I am sick of how dusty the 900 is, also the poor cable management and placement of the USB ports where they just gather dust.

I think I want a case door to make the overall look of the PC cleaner, and also want it to be as quiet as possible, but the door isn't a necessity.

My current list in order of preference:

>Lian-Li PC-A71B (Could be too big?!)

>Lian-Li PC-B10 (Doesn't seem to be available yet but combines midi form factor with door and soundproofing- best looking of the lot imo.)

>Lian-Li PC-A10B (This looks like a slightly smaller A71, but costs more?)

>Lian-Li PC-A07B (Much cheaper but smaller and no door.)

>Silverstone Fortress FT01B/W (For some reason the windowed version is much cheaper than the non-windowed version, but I'm not sure If I want a window this time.)

There are loads more Midi-Size Lian-Li cases which look nice, but none of them have doors and I can't see the differences between most of them.

If anyone can recommend any good cases up to about £160 or tell me more about the ones I'm thinking of it would be much appreciated. :)

I'd say the silverstone fortress would be the best case there for components and cable management etc. It's really easy to get it looking great inside, however, it's not the nicest looking; the minimalistic and clean look of the Lian-Li cases is nicer. I guess you'll have to weigh up which things are more important to you.

Another one in budget (and i'm a bit biased here) is the Antec P182 or even P183 (useful if you have a larger PSU), which has a neat door and good cable management options. It also looks nice and clean, and if you can find one like mine, very unique! I have the 'SE' version, which has a mirror finish on the outside, and the inside is painted black, which always looks very nice, though perhaps wasted without a window like the Silverstone Fortress has.

Cheers for the input guys. :)

I like the look of the P182, and the majority of the features on the P183 seem to be a good improvement over it, but I hate what Antec did to the door, even if it does reduce the temps a bit.

I was going to change from Antec this time, but I haven't ruled out the P182/3 yet completley.

I agree with you about the P183 door, it ruins the looks. Fortunately the P182 can accommodate most PSUs anyway, and basically all if you remove the lower bay fan.

By no means rule it out, but if I had your budget, as above, I would probably go for the fortress.
