New case, need some advice.

Hello again OC3D!

Yep it's that time again and this time it's a big one.

Today I went and ordered a new Lian Li A70A (Silver) along with the side panel kit.

Currently recycling parts from my old project Ov3rkill, which includes:

  • Black Ice GT Stealth 360 Blue
  • EK Wave 775 Waterblock
  • Alpha cool 380mm compensating reservervoir (50mm diameter)
  • Laing DCC with blue plexi top.
  • XSPC 20x4 LCD (Silver)
  • Crappy unmarked OEM PSU (Plexi)
  • Intel Core2Duo E6600
  • 4GB GEIL Performance RAM
  • 3x500GB WD HDDs

I'm having a new PSU (OCZ Mod XStream PRO 500W PSU)

Some new tubing and some other little accessories.

Oh and a 5 SATA drive hot swap backplane (3x5½) which i'll respray silver just for added coolness.

BUT all that aside!

Somehow the holders for the reservoir have snapped and only a few places carry them (3 to be precise) but I don't want to pay £3 for a pair and shipping on top.

I've though about using U Bolts but they wouldn't give a very secure fit, can anybody else think of other ways to mount the res. The res is 50mm in diameter and is not very heavy so plastic would do the job since the originals were made of plexi.

It might be a little bit too much on the cheap side and depending on the placement it might look a bit odd, but how about Zip ties? They will surely give you a snug fit as long as you tighten them well.
 
Aye I thought about that but I thought it might be a bit... tacky :(

lol Im usually the first one to use el' cheapo solutions but I want this case to look nice lol.

Im hoping later on to mod it with a Mirrors Edge theme.

Powder coated white with clear tubing, dark red dye and ME's Logo on the right side panel

I searched B&Q earlier but alas my searches turned up water butts.

I was looking for 50mm clamps.

Also has/does anybody own one of the above said cases?
 
lol@medic13, looks like you need some sleep mate :D

I went for this case because it seemed to have the most space for the price.

I thinking of putting a Black Ice GT Stealth 360 in the roof with 6x Scythe Kaze Juyni 1900 RPM in push/pull, making a custom pump mount to prevent vibration on the bottom of the case.

I also need to find somewhere to mount my 37cm reservior.
 
Here you go, She's a bigun, the dimensions are: 380 x 50mm, and holds approx. 500ml, it's very nice and well made :)

Oh man that's a doozy of a reservoir! No wonder you're having trouble figuring out where you are going to stick that sucker!
 
Aye along with a 360mm Radiator and a Laing DDC1+ Ultra.

Yeah you're right, the res isn't so much the problem, the placement is.
 
I think in a case 220mm x 590mm x 595mm should be able to fit it lol

Got some nice ideas now and my fiance has suggested a stargate theme so I've got some ideas.

UPDATE: I got a present for ya!, actually it's more of question hehe.

Can pumps be orientated on its side? or do they have to be upright i.e. inlet on top.
