Hi Guys.

I just completed my build that is very much like this one just except for the watercooling bit.
My part's are: Cosmos 2 , asus rampage 4 extreme, Intel 3970x cpu, 32gb corsair dominator platinum 1866, corsair h100 cooler, 2 club3d 7970 Ace edition, creative fatality soundcard, 1 samsung 840 pro 256gb ssd drive and 2 3tb seagate barracuda drives and a corsair ax1200i powersuply.

My problem is this: when i try to overclock my cpu just to gamers overclock my computer reboots ofc but it does not boot up, its like it looking for the gpu so it's shuts down then i have to shut down the powersuply for a few seconds and the i can get in the bios and set it to stock again and the it works.
The other problem is when i get it to work at stock levels and try to do 3dmark vantage for a simple P-score run it freezes and i have to reboot.

So guys please help me and yes i'm a noob.

Looking forward for you reply's:)

Best regards

Martin

I actually had a issue when I had 7970's in crossfire that sounds similar to yours. My PC would just shut down for no reason and it took awhile to get it back on. Once I switched to a GTX 680 I've never encountered the issue again. Not saying it's the cards doing it but it could be. Try overclocking your CPU when your cards are disconnected and see if it works.

Did you by chance put the cpu in yourself? If you did then chances are you have bent a pin.
If not you've probably done something wrong. Leave it at stock if you dont know what you're doing.
Shame that is a nice parts list.
Educate yourself. Read the motherboard manual, read reviews, watch build logs.

Correct me if I'm wrong, bu the 3970x is not an unlocked cpu. You need a K series for that. Due to built-in limitations of any non-k cpu you can only go 400Mhz over the base mulitiplier, so a 1Ghz oc is not possible and the comp will blue screen every time.
