New build failing on me...

Today like any day I booted up my PC, noticing that some processes were running slow I did the old CTRL+ALT+DEL to close it down, chrome crashed so i restarted my PC.

When I booted up my PC I got 2 or 3 errors that processes didnt start up (one I think was overwolf.)

Slowly but surely my PC was getting slower and slower. Until it got to the point that it took 5minutes to get off the windows loading page when I booted up and tried to run AVG (maybe its a virus?)... AVG had to update...WHY NOW! 20Minutes later it updated and needed to restart before I could run a full-computer scan.

After I restarted my PC it wouldnt get past the Windows logo that goes *Starting Windows*

I started to format my HDD and reinstall windows. 20 minutes later im sat looking at a blue screen with the lovely frozen words "Setup is starting Services".

I honestly don't know what to do. A fresh install of Windows and its crashed on me already.

Any help appreciated

You need to give a list of your specs. Just saying that they're in your signature doesn't help as it doesn't contain a list of what storage you are using or what OS.

Overwolf is crap. I'd get rid of it.

A reinstall would help but right now it sounds like some sort of hard drive failure.

Try and install Windows on another drive and then run HDtune on the one you are experiencing issues with.

It could just be a spam virus but if you can't even get into Windows it could be something more sinister.

I know there's a Google install link for Chrome doing the rounds that installs a god load of crap on your PC. I fell for it the other day as it comes up top of Google search.

If you get it fixed remove AVG and just put microsoft security essentials on it and have malware bytes on there too

i will + 1 the hard drive failing symptoms.
if you have multiple hard drives try them 1 at a time to isolate the issue..
