New Build Advice

I have already built a PC before, my little brother needs a PC so I'm giving him my current one and building a new, more up to date(ish) PC.

For my new PC I will be doing a little bit of gaming, nothing to intense though. I also need to be able to do modelling/game creation work for my University course so I want something to be able to handle the strain of that.

I have picked these components, any input and/or advice would be much appreciated as I haven't got a lot of experience with this.

Corsair Obsidian 750D
Intel Core i7-3770K 3.5GHz Quad-Core Processor
Corsair H100i Liquid CPU Cooler
ASRock Z77 Extreme4 Motherboard
Corsair Vengeance Pro 8GB
EVGA GeForce GTX 760 SC
Corsair RM 750W 80 PLUS Gold

Thanks

750D is a bit overkill for you if I'm honest. You could save a lot of money by getting an Arc Midi R2/ Define R4/ Deep Silence 1/ Deep Silence 2.

With the money saved on that, you might as well get a Haswell CPU (4770k) and motherboard with that (z87). Maybe a slightly better motherboard as well. Nothing wrong with ASRock, but Gigabyte have an epic z87 offering :)

If you decide to stay with the 3770k get an MSI MPower board much better for that chipset or as Feronix said the 4770k with either the UD4 or GD65 and if you like the look of the 750 i think you can go with a 550d

+1 for the 550D, I bought that case, just a normal size, not to small and not to huge like a 900D/Coolermaster Cosmos etc, just looks plain but modern and neat. :)

Or even a 330R :p

I'm in love with the 750D case, and I know there's the other ones that look the same and are cheaper, but the 750D will allow for more upgrading capability over time. When it comes to that.

I'll check out the MSI MPower board, thanks!
