New AV setup....nearly there...

Hi Guys

I've been pretty busy recently ensuring that my movie/gaming/office room is up to date with all the kit I need to have an awesome movie and music experience

I'm nearly done, just waiting for a decent HDMI cable (QED) to come through and get tidied away...then that's it.

Speakers are still being being run in so I can't have it blasting yet, but it sounds amazing :D

Kit:

TV:

Panasonic TH-42PZ80B 1080p High Def Plasma

Console:

Sony Playstation 3 with 250GB HDD (via HDMI)

Blu Ray Player:

Panasonic DMP-BD35 (via HDMI)

AV Receiver:

Denon AVR-1909

Speakers:

Fronts: Mordaunt Short 906i

Quality silver-plated Bi-Wire

Rears:

Fronts: Mordaunt Short 903i

200 strand oxygen-free copper

Centre:

Fronts: Mordaunt Short 905i

Quality silver-plated Bi-Wire

I am looking at getting a nice desktop stand for my centre so I'll show that when I can find a nice one.

PC (awaiting Project Aqua Vitae to be finished so ignore the case for now)

Connected VIA DVI-HDMI to the Plasma and Optical Out to the Denon.

Dell 2407WFP Monitor

Right, less talk and more pics!

Note that the spare cable hanging down will be replaced and tidied.

very nice mate, you might of seen my office thread in the other part of the forums, anyways Ive just got myself some new Sony Floor Standing speakers myself for my living room, these will be hooked up via some QED cabling to my Sony STRDA2400ES Amp (when I order soon) I will have a Sony PS3 via hdmi (160Gb) and an Xbox Elite (120Gb) via hdmi also into a Samsung 40'' tv. Ill make my own thread soon, Anyways enjoy your kit its all very nice gear!!

Nope haven't seen it mate :)

Thanks, I certainly will enjoy the True HD :p

My living room setup is seperate from my gamin/movies/PC room so I didn't bother posting it here. Of course, I've got a nice setup there too:

TV:

Samsung LE32M87BDX 32"

Sony BDP-S350 Blu Ray Player via HDMI/Optical

Sky+ (via SCART/Phono)

Samsung HT-X30 Home Cinema System

What do you think of the TrueHD sound from Blu Rays?

True HD/DTS MA HD is a big difference. The sound is so much clearer and more directional than DD/DTS. I really notice the difference.

He only wants to make us jealous..and succeeds

Im saving up for a decent stereo / 2.1 set next - anything is better than cheap 5.1 "pc" speakers

Nice setup you have there, iv always wanted a AV room :yumyum:

Im aiming to go from a good stereo/2.1 setup, upgrade the amp/decoder and add the rest of the surround...but that will probably be after uni lol xD

That's a good way to go mate. Deffo get a solid AV Receiver first with HDMI HD Audio. yes they're like £230+ (for the cheapest), but it's worth it.

That's a great setup Kempez. :)

Currently I can only dream of something similar as funds don't allow for it atm.

Thanks guys, am loving it to be honest!

hehe, does the female not let you have all this in the sitting room? or you like your man space?

Well this way I get my own space where I can watch and listen to what I want, when I want!

Lots of quality stuffs.

Can u get an AV receiver that will mix/fade inputs ? As opposed to just selection of 1 at a time ?

would that not be more of a mixer?

I'm in a quandry really.

I want a box that'll take 4/5 digital inputs (screw all the 50million other inputs) upto 7.1 output to speakers and allow a mixture of all the inputs to be outputted.

Be nice if they all had a dial and u could vary them all. Pretty much all the ones I've seen just allow selection of 1 source only.

That looks sweet, the day I get my first real paycheck is the day I invest in some quality amps, speakers and a pair of Technics 1200s!

Must be awesome to sit right at the back of that room and watch an action flick, like being at the cinema! :)

Do you have PlayStation Network?

Nice setup, wanted to set something like this up but me + large amounts of wire = large mess.

Yep deffo worth investing in AV stuffs. Sitting at the back of the room is about as close as I'll get in this room to a cinema, sounds awesome!
