Core 2 Extreme QX6850 - bada$$, Penryn are just around the corner though

8800gtx - again, awesome piece of kit but Nvidia are due a refresh Nov/Dec

Case VD4000BWS - No idea what this is... Lian Li tickle your fancy?

Power supply S75QB PCP&P, Enermax, Tagan, Corsair = amazing psu's

ASUS STRIKER EXTREME NVIDIA I'd get a P35 mobo such as asus blitz or wait a few weeks for the X38 chipset

DVR-212

corsair 8500C5DF Dominators? Mine have died. TWICE. For no reason. OCZ/Cellshocks/Ballistix are good

Care to share your budget and do you need peripherals (monitor/kb/mouse)?

The above rig would be nice as it is, bare minimum switch out the mobo for a new p35...

well besides the processor its about 1500-2500. i just need the tower. looking for a liquid cool system, enough power to handle print quality photoshop tasks and gaming. tryin 2 find a simple solution for the liquid cooling system. the case is http://www.thermaltakeusa.com/product/Chassis/fulltower/Kandalf_lcs/vd4000bws.asp

has a built in liquid cooling system, but i'm not sure how good it is.

this is a 1st build. plannin on gettin a 2nd 8800gtx later. which 8800gtx card should i get or are they all about the same?

any recommendations for hard drive?

They are all pretty similar. Personally, I like XFX for their warrenties and good clocks. EVGA are pretty good aswell. I dno if the block in that prebuilt w/c loop would be any good for a quad core cpu. Ide build your own w/c loop. :)

As for HDD how about 2 300+ GB HDDS in RAID.
