new amd duel core's!!!!!

One thing i really don't get is AMD's rating structure.

If an A64 4000 is aimed squarely at a P4 running at 4ghz, i'd expect to see more than a 1fps increase in Unreal by goung up to 4800....

The rating scale has completely changed for the dual core processors... In fact I still dont understand exactly how they're being rated, lol.

On a side note... Those benchmarks really mean nothing at this point in time. There's no software / hardware / driver support for dual core technology at this point. Once companies start releasing software built to thrive off of the two core I think we will be able to see the X2's really stand out from the crowd. Too early to be comparing its performance to the other Athlons IMHO.

And BTW - thanks for re-posting an article I've posted long long ago m8!!!!

But yeah I don't get the rating system for X2's!

Plus I agree that multi-threaded applications haven't extended to games yet (unless Xbox games make it to PC). Look at the stats for Virus Scanning/DVD ripping whilst gaming tho :worship: :worship: :worship:

i agree but you still can compare them when running without dual core support
