Uh, so I haven't been on here for 4 months I think... Hi?

Anyway, some of you helped me pick a camera for my Sister last christmas, d5100 for anyone wondering, and now i intend to buy her a new lens for her birthday.

Now it can't be too expensive, I'd say 130£ max and I was thinking to buy her a macro lens.

So go ahead and throw some suggestions at me!:)

You are highly unlikely to find a macro lens that cheap. I had to pay about £190 for a tamron 90mm f2.8 macro second hand. (and that was cheap) A genuine micro nikkor is going to be way beyond your budget so you'll need to look at the third party lenses from sigma, tamron and tokina.

A tamron SP 90mm f2.8 is an old model. (This lens has been kicking around since the 80's) Macro lenses have always been expensive, probably because of the optical correction required to make them focus close and keep the field flat. Even an old manual focus nikon macro from the 70's would probably set you back almost you entire budget. Problem is the d5100 doesn't have an aperture indexing ring or an in body focus motor meaning you are limited to using AF-S type lenses which have built in focus motors.
