Need help with paint job

Hello forum, only a couple of days ago I had realized the excessive amount of scratches on my Acrylic window. So I decided to give it a black paint job.
I am now on the fifth coat, having the last three coats being heavy.
However, the paint is still rough, its not smooth or in the panels normal state.
I prepped the panel by washing it, then sanding it down ONLY by using 800 Grit sand paper, until it was smooth.
Nothing else, no etching primer or any other substance.
What do I have to do to get it to become smooth?

unless you used a proper paint for the plexi, the "bite" of the solvent in the paint
may not allow it to adhere properly. hence the "etching primer" like in metal paints.
the plexi is slick and the sanding helps make it bite, but it is limited.
to produce a slick surface in paint, once enough paint is applied, you'll sand alot
more. starting @ 1200 using wet/dry paper. sand with a small amount of water,
and squeege the surface after sanding. you are looking for a smooth and flat
scheen. remember to sand in one direction and not too hard. next step is to
wet-sand again with a 1600/2000 grit paper. once the sanding has happened
again, this should be in one dirtection and uniformly. squeege after sanding for
a smoother finish and a satin scheen. next is to buff shine with a light grit polishing
compound. next step and lighter grit compound finishing off with a de-glazing
compound.
now this will all be done after the paint has cured, temperature cycled and has
hardened. all this sanding on soft surface will yield splotch and diggs. on heavily
painted parts, i wait 3-4weeks for full hardness.


step 1 - clean the surface from all grease and grime
step 2 - sanding the surface with a 220grit
step 3 - primer. acrylic paints work best. some paint (oil-based) can melt the
substrate of the material
step 4 - painting. once the primer has flashed/cured light scuff the surface and clean/prep
and paint. allow a flash time then apply next coat. apply thill total coverage is
achived.
