I would like to setup a Intel system. This time I have plan to OC my CPU, but I'm a newbie in OC. Thus I planning to go for the cheaper processor first and I need help in selecting CPU & the brand graphic card.

My config will be as follows:

- Intel E2180 or E2200

- Biostar T-Power I45

- 1GB of Kingston Hyperx 1066 x 2

- PC Power & Cooling, Silencer 750 Quad Crossfire

- one ATI 4870

- Thermalright IFX-14 or Zalman CNPS9700 LED

Thanks in advance for your help .

E2200 imo, higher multi and them chips don't do particualy high fsb. So you'll get a better result.

As for GPU brand it don't really matter. I like sapphire, but they're all bout the same.

Who told you that?

With the lower end core 2 chips a high multi is better for overclocking as they arn't that great at FSB clocking. So having the fixed variable higher would allow more lenience (sp?) in the adjustable.

Also if you do get a cherry chip you can then pretty much chose the clockspeed you want :p.

What resolution are you going to be playing games at (you must be playing games on a system like that)? I wouldn't bother with the expensive PCP&C power supply. Get a much cheaper Corsair TX750 instead. I would also recommend the Asus P5Q Pro over the Biostar board. The Biostar isn't bad, but it certainly isn't as good as the Asus. Finally, upgrade the cooler to an OCZ Vendetta 2. Consider getting an E7200 over the E2xxx series chips. They aren't much more, and are far better overclockers.
