Need help choosing hard drive for storage purpose

Hi, i have been looking to upgrade my drive from 1tb to 3tb. Ive come across different brands and different models.

For instance WD green blue black purple red or red pro
Seagate sshd, nas and enterprise 128mb cache

Really keen on the Seagate enterprise st3000vn001 as it offers tranfer rates up to 600mbps. Or the WD red pro. I know these drives are used for NAS storage solutions so they have longer life, not noisy and good speeds and are more solid compared to normal hard drive. Previous 1tb was WD blue

So i was wondering if this will be good to use in normal gaming rig as a storage Drive, What my understanding is that the red pro has the efficiency of the green drive and performance as the black or i am wrong .

all i am looking for a 3TB drive with solid performance ie fast read write speed quite interms or sound and will last long time

What do you guys over at oc3d recommend

No hard drive will ever do 600mbps, more like 150 - 180 tops, but anyway for just storage id recommend a green drive, they might not be as fast as wd blue or the seagates but they are quiet, cool and cheap.

You need to decide if you want performance or silence tbh.

Silence has to be the WD green - I have had some in pretty much 24/7 use for years (storge server)

Seagate drive will be noisey as fudge

If its just to be used as storage then the green will be fine - if youre dumping steam etc on it then Id honestly say get a big SSD for that

personally they are used for movies and storing large images and other data ive gathered over the years and my 1tb is full

the reason i mentioned the nas drive i thought they were good for storage for long run
