Need GFX </budget>

Hello all!

I'm currently running of a 32mb PCI Card :worship: Which means im running my 22" at like 17" res.

So i need a new card, im on a budget so it needs to be sub £30; i will buy second hand, (here, ebay ect)

Any ideas?

Would you mind clarifying if your graphics card is PCI or PCI-Express? If it's PCI, do you have any idea if your setup has any alternative slots like AGP 8x or PCI-Express of any form? None of the above graphics cards will fit if you have PCI and only PCI slots.

I had the 7800GT for like 2 years GREAT GREAT CARD. Can't knock it at all tbh. Well worth the £300+

The used 7900GS for £30 delivered is tempting. Low power consumption too.

Other than being able to run your monitor at it's native resolution, what else do you need it to acheive? What games do you play (if any) and what are the rest of your PC specs? PSU brand and power output would help us too

With them cards is it the higher the better? E.g;

Best; 8800

Middle; 8600

Worse; 7900

And GT? and GTS? GS?

Generally the ranges go up in speed, yes.

8 series > 7 series

The 8800's were top end though, as were the 7900's. The 8600's were mid range.

Not interested in my X1950 Pro? Damn hawt card when it came out and a bargain if I do say so myself
