Need some help choosing what would be the way to go, I need a CPU motherboard (P8H67) as not going to need graphics card as not a gamer at all and some memory. I have a budget of £450.

If you are not overclocking either you could save money and go for the non K version of the 2500 LINK and if you don't need a CPU as powerfull as the 2500 you could go for the i3 2120 LINK.

Thanks for that, would ddr3 1600 work with the H67 boards because they state 1333 max I think.

I haven't looked into it to be honest, I thought they would take 1600 as well. If it says in the specs for the motherboard that 1333 is the max then you will need to get 1333 RAM The Mushkin Silverline should be perfect LINK

EDIT:Just checked and that motherboard in the pic I posted is 1333mhz maximum I don't know about the other boards though.

Thanks for looking, looks like all the boards are the same. Is there much difference between 1333 and 1600

As far as I know the difference is minimal and you wouldn't physically notice it. I think it's just better to get 1600 if you are overclocking for better speeds, there could be more to it but that is as much as I know about it.

for most people ram speeds on sandy bridge wont make a difference going from the cheapest slow kit to the fastest money can buy because they have that much bandwidth already the imc becomes the bottleneck. its only in benchmarks and synthetic tests you would notice going from 1333 to 2133.

dont forget the k series also have a more powerfull gpu aswell as the unlocked multi so it might still be the best cpu for you.

i would think about waiting for the x67 to come out as it will be the best of both worlds as it oc and uses the on dye gpu too.
