Things are starting to pick up on YouTube so its time for me to invest (at least a little bit) in a dedicated video recorder. Ive been using my fuji s5800 photo digi cam so far,

Ive got my eye on a Sanyo VPC-CG10 SDHC Camcorder atm:

This does 720 16:9 and take 10mp picks (never use it buy meh its handy)

any of you guys got experience with this subject?

need HD and 16:9, max budget of £250

Other choice is this: Sanyo Xacti VPC-HD1000

Sligtly more money but 1080p recording..

Any ideas?

sanyo are good value when it comes to hd cameras ive had a play with a sanyo xacti pvc-th1 and they go for around £250 (comes in red and black or silver and black) and thats a good alternative to the cg10 but tbh i cant realy see there being much quality difference except the the th1 has a 30x zoom that you probably wont need.

so actualy the cg10 would be the one i would go with and an 8/16 gb sd card. there £15 and £25 ish

Have no idea about cameras in that price bracket tbh. The least expensive ones we got here are Sony Z1s - around £3k.

While we're on the subject of youtube vids, is it possible for you to get a microphoone of some sort? The large sound of fans in the background gets annoying, sooner or later, and eventually makes me want to mute you. >.<

Its the cam Im using atm matey, its not great. Just a digital photo cam - fuji s5800.

Lots of the YT subscribers are moaning so thats why Im looking for something nicer.

i dont see why they have a right to complain realy, its not like there paying to watch it, and tbh i dont realy notice any problems with the sound.

The fans are there, its the server you can hear as its right by the camera.

Hopefully the new cam will sort it, Im leaning towards the HD1000 atm

ohh the server, i still dont notice it realy, the new hard drive camcorders have decent directional mics but there all like 500+, if there is still an issue find a cheapish clip on mic like they use on talk shows ect. it should just plug into it if it has the right input.

Just looking for the right deal on a hd1000 now, unless I find something better in the meantime thats the one I think.

Been hunting around for the HD1000 and short of buying one from Hong Kong on ebay none of the shops that have it seem 'reputable' so Im back looking at the Xacti CG10. Heres a good video I found, see what you think.

(720p)

Actualy looks pretty good on YT with it in its proper resolution (forum crops it)

Just want to get a decent cammera I can whack on a tripod and that will record in HD so I can get better quality in my vids...... £250 max any ideas?

OK just found the HD2000 for £333.49, more than I wanted to pay but seems an epic camera.....

Do you lot think its worth the extra wedge?

I reckon it is like most things, get the best you can afford... Although as an investment I would say yes it is worth it!
