NEC or SAMSUNG

The second one. I have that one and it performs extremly Well.

It is one of the fastest atm (I read it at Toms hardware where it even won the benchmark test).

Samsung is good ok but go with the NEC because like i said it sure is one of the best at the moment.

I think thers allready a firmware update. You schould get the newest "OFFICIAL" Firmware update. I say official because if it isnt official and something bad happens your burner is broken and you cant send it to them after that.

Yeah.

Also that drive, Justinsane, is the only drive yet to be able to burn 8x Dual Layer

hehe and if you wait half a year it will be able to burn Blue ray yuhey.... lol it goes so fast there in the "Burner Scene"

wait what do u mean if u wait half a year.

are u saing the drive will be able to with a firmware update or wait for another 6 months for bluray burners.

also, they will be ultra $$$$$$

nah i dont think the burners we have now will be able to support the bR Technologie but i think that the first BR burner will appear in half a year and just wait like half a year after that they will drop down on not cost more then DVD.

I personally can never tell the difference between "the best" burner on the market or just a "decent" one you could pick up for half the cost. My cheap little Aopen drives were the fastest available at time of purchase and they both operate flawlessly and at the rated speeds, what more could u ask for?

I'd say $45 is CHEAP for a DVD Burner. I watch some people go spend $75, $80 for a Sony, when a friend of mine's sony 8x burner has broke TWICE.
