My SteelSeries Sensei locks up after installing Firmware!

Hi there guys, I'm in desperate need of help here.
I've Google'd the interwebs, top to bottom, for a solution, but I can't seem to find it. This started happening yesterday after I updated my Firmware for the second time in a long time. It all worked fine and I was happy with the new Firmware. But then, this morning, I tried to use my PC, but my mouse won't budge. I've tried reinstalling Firmware, factory resetting the mouse before doing so as well, I've also tried reinstalling the main driver and I've tried different ports. When I reset the mouse it works, but the second the Firmware is finished it won't budge again. The mouse is worthless without Firmware btw.

So is there a wizard out here that knows what's up and can save my day from being ruined? :)

I also noticed A LOT of people have problems with their SteelSeries products. I might just never pick another one up, even tho I've never had problems with them until today.

Anybody? :(

Don't bump your threads mate, certainly not after 30 minutes. If someone knows the answer they'll help you out.

Have you tried restoring your system to a point before you updated the firmware? Click start > Type system restore > click the above option > walk through the steps.

Have you updated to the Steelseries engine 3?

I know the Steelseries engine 2 had problems, I used to get BSODs with it.
It could be a problem with your mouse though, unless you absolutley need the new firmware for it i'd just leave it on the old firmware. If it ain't broke, don't fix it :)

I'm trying a system restore now. Lets see if that helps. And come on dude, I can't even use my PC for what I want, show some mercy with the bumping laws :)

Yea, I'm trying a system restore now, if that still does not work, I'll look into what engine I use, I do believe I use the newest, though. I did downloaded what it told me to on their site a couple of few days ago. The Firmware issues happened yesterday, just to put it in perspective. Also, what is that RAM you're using? Mushkin Blackline. I got the Redline, bought it ages ago, very pleased with it, but are the Blackline better? Looking into getting some new RAW, 4GB don't cut it no more.

To be honest dude RAM is RAM, as long as it's not the cheap value RAM stuff then any 1600mhz or other speed RAM with the same timings is just as good as any other RAM with the same specs.

Just pick the RAM you like the look of best or goes best with your rigs colour scheme. :)

Yea I kinda know that, but still the bragging rights are there when you're rocking 6-8-6 timings haha. (They can go 2Ghz with 10-ish timings too) Not sure if that's even that good anymore, been out of the game for a while.

But I did that system restore and it got my mouse back to working order, but the "old" drivers keep crashing on me so I still gotta use the newer drivers if I can't find the older ones. So I'll be back with a new update about how it goes. Thanks so far, tho.

Guys, let's stay on topic. You can make a different thread if you want to know about RAM :)

Alright, let us know how things work out when you reinstall the new firmware.

Really? You're going to correct on me like that? Just because I asked about his RAM. LOL. Anyway, I did the system restore and updated the driver and firmware again and everything is running smooth so far. But it did that yesterday as well, so we'll see tomorrow if it still cooperates. Thanks for the help! :)

Steelseries 3 engine doesn't support the Sensei Raw so that's probably why.

I do not have the Raw, I got the normal Sensei, but the Fnatic Edition. But seems like things are going smooth now. Thanks for the input, though.

Either way, the only mouse fully supported is the rival, so it looks like other models may be alright with the new drivers as you've fixed it
