There's been a lot of discussion over the reliability of the Hiper Type-R 580w PSUs.

Many people have complained about them failing within 18 months, and in the most extreme of cases, exploding and taking some other components out with it.

I had a the same PSU and never had any issues with it at all, which my friend is still running and I've had that 18 months or so.

As always, you only hear the bad press. Personally, I would try a different make such as a seasonic, OCZ or Tagan as they haven't had as much bad press recently

Agree with rast, i would definately replace the 7300, all the components you are using are great until you say 7300..... No good for gaming. 7600 is better.

We are not sure what he wants the Rig for.

He may not want it for Gaming. ;)

Yer i guess.. but still the 7300GS is lame.. By anyones standards lol. 8500GT would be my best bet for budget. Unless its gaming then 8600 or 7600.

Rofl. I am only saying because the rest of his rig is pretty high spec then to have a 7300 just seems abit.. lame.. haha..

My Hiper died on it's 16th month of service. Can't really fault it otherwise, system worked a charm / no stability issues etc.

replaced it with a coolermaster energy saving psu, does the trick:rolleyes:

Hello Mark (from another Mark) I agree with the earlier posts. I would go with a FSP PS over the Hiper. (a good 400 to 500 Watt is plenty for that system)

And as to the GPU definitely use a 8500 or 8600 over a 7300.

(I used a Silverstone 400Watt with 4 Hdds, a pair of 7600GTs in SLI and water cooling.)

I Am one, mine failed a while back and i believe it was Due to the exhaust fan failing causing the unit to overheat:( I believe this issue has been addressed since.
