Hello OC3D! Thought it would be cool to consolidate my two build logs into one thread of only meaningful pictures, showing how far my build has come since when I first wanted to build a PC. Enjoy!
The initial parts, things would definitely change between then and now...
The first test-boot, so exciting!
Finishing up the air-cooled phase of this build:
Time went by, and I decided air-cooling just wasn't cool enough:
Modding the 650D for a 280 rad in the top:
Test fitting the waterblock:
And the radiator:
Tubing it up, my oh my was the Primochill tubing bad...
While she was leak-testing for the first time, I finished up the blue LED mod for the front of the 650D. The stock white lights didn't fit at all!
Some more time went by, but this build wasn't done yet! Sheet of carbon fiber arrived, got to work doing some accenting:
Did I mention how bad Primochill LRT tubing is...
And then once again, I "finished"...
But we never really finish, do we? Tore the build down, did some more work with the carbon fiber:
Making the switch to clear tubing with dye, looks much better!
Somewhere along the way I replaced my OCZ ZX850 with a Corsair AX750, and decided I wanted to do some custom sleeving!
And finally, the build was "done" once again!
The rig stayed like this for a while, and besides switching around the hard drives a little not much changed. Until recently... SLI 670s!
Added in a sound card I got for Christmas too!
I ran them air-cooled for a while...
Until I got new WC hardware:
More carbon fiber for good measure:
GPU blocks are mounted, we're getting close!
Test fitting everything, had to do another custom mounting of the radiator:
Tubed up and leak testing, it's crazy how many times I've done this in the last few months:
And once again, the build is done! Of course if you've learned anything by now though, this build will never really be done!
And what would a high-performance PC be without some benchmarks
Well, that's all for now folks. Thanks for checking out my build! Stay tuned here on OC3D, Midnight Smurf is always changing and who knows what I'll do next!
