Hi guys,

Well after quite a few weeks of research think I have found my new rig set-up:

Cooler Master HAF X - Love the look of this case and great cooling.

Noctua NH-D14 heatsink - Seems like this is great quality and recommended.

Core i5-2500K ?? When it comes out on the 5th

Socket 1155 Motherboard... Asus ?? 130 quid tops really.. Order this on the 5th or so too.

Nvidia GTX 460 1GB

Ballistix Tracer DDR3 4GB - Mmmm, LEDs!

Coolermaster Silent Pro Gold 700W - High efficiency

WD Raptor 150GB (own already)

Samsung F3 1TB (own already)

Acer 22" (own already)

Logitech Illuminated Keyboard (own already)

Logitech G5 (own already)

I'm guessing this RAM should fit under the heatsink ok as there's no massive heatsinks or anything... My other worry is that the heatsink will cover up the LEDs on the 2X2GB RAM slots...

Word of warning, the HAF X is a behemoth! But i previously owned the HAF 932 and i think you will actually appreciate the functionality very quickly when putting it all together.

But that is a nice looking build, as always depends on what you are doing, but everything you're buying it pretty much brand new, cant go wrong really. With a gold rated PSU, makes for a good long term investment. In regards to the memory, it depends on the orientation of the memory slots; if they smash them up against the CPU then probably the first 2 banks will be covered, bit of a shame, but its the price you pay with bigger heatsinks these days.

Yeah the HAF X is bloody huge. I have it but luckily my desk was just big enough to fit the monster under it

Part of the reason why I can't wait to get my hands on that case, already measured up my desk and if I move everything aside and put it at an angle I should be able to get it on my desk with all the guts nicely visible

Stupid question but I haven't worked on a rig for ages, it's not possible to just mount the RAM in the further away paired slots is it?

I would just be disappointed after paying a bit more for the LED RAM that I can't see it through the window
