My PC - Rather unoriginal named "Titan" (for now)

Hi!

I'd like to share my PC with the community.

It's technically my first build, although it has undergone considerable upgrades! Most recently I've added an EVGA Titan Back SC which I'm over the moon with!

My next planned upgrade is a Kraken X61 (which I have 4 Noctua NF-A14 fans for). I'm currently using a Phanteks Air Cooler due to a faulty Kraken X60 having to be returned and the X61 being announced in the mean time. I'd also like to get a Backplate and ACX cooler for the GPU which are currently out of stock on EVGA's EU site :(

Here are the specs:

Case: Corsair 730T
CPU: i7-4770K @ 4.4GHz cooler by a Phanteks PH-TC14PE
Motherboard: Z87 MSI MPower Max
RAM: Corsair Vengeance LP 2x4GB @1600
GPU: 2 x EVGA Titan Black SC in SLI @ Stock (For now)
Storage: Samsung 840 EVO 250GB x 2
PSU: Corsair AX1200i with the Black Braided Cable Pack
Fans: be quiet! Silent Wing 2 PWM fans all round

My PC is hooked up to a Yamaha RX-V765 Receiver for 5.1 Surround Sound. If I'm feeling especially chilled I'll put the picture through the TV and play with an Xbox 360 controller :D

Hope you like!!!

UPDATE: Second GPU (with Backplates added for both!) and new PSU added. Here's a new picture -

Nice! Do you might sharing your reason why you went with the titan black?

Yeah sure.

I originally got an EVGA 780 Ti Classified heavily discounted and after a large amount of problems and a number of RMA's EVGA upgraded me free of charge to the Kingpin 780 Ti. A week later I got the chance to swap the Kingpin for a Titan Black. Following a thread in the GPU section of this very forum I decided the Titan Black was the logical choice.

What retailer did you obitain the gpus from?

now i remember that thread from few days ago

Now that is stealthy. I'd stick with the nvidia cooler tbh if it's doing the business. Invest in blocks not gay little EVGA coolers. Haven't any of the ones you've had so far got dodgy fans?

Probably the best description of their shite coolers :D

Was it this 780ti?

The only non-stealthy parts are the bright white fans on the Phanteks haha. You make a good point though as I had to RMA multiple Classifieds and a Kingpin cos of the ACX cooler. I really like the Reference card, feels very sturdy and looks really good, think I'll take your advice and stick with it. Will still get the backplate though.

Agreed.

Yup, that's the 780 Ti I had, the Kingpin. Good card, but the Titan Black is only 65MHz behind it on the core clock (once GPU Boost 2.0 is done) and has double the VRAM. I never planned to use LN2 either so the switch was any easy decision in the end.

Yeah i've had 2 bad ones too, ended up pushing me over to the watercooling darkside. I started out with the reference coolers and when Classy's had a little price drop I figured it made sense to upgrade but it really was more of a sidegrade. The EVGA backplates look good with the reference cooler, definitely go for that, it will work really well with your rig.

OP Updated.

Onto another issue. The new PSU I have is a bit longer than the previous and as a result I've had to move the cabling around. This means I can no longer use the rubber-grommeted cable holes as they are too close to the PSU and would mean bending the cables too much for my liking.

Here's a picture of what I mean -

Any suggestions from you guys to make this tidier would be appreciated!!!

Turn the PSU the other way up and put all of the cables through the rubber grommet, if you don't have any connectors that need to go on the extreme right they should bend back through okay. It's not cleanest motherboard tray to work with really. Also if it's long enough put that USB cable through the left hand grommet with all of the other IO.

I don't think this is viable as the PCIE cables only just reach the PSU from the GPUs. Will give it a try though!!!
