My other rig

Thought I'd post some pics of my other rig. Not quite a computer as such though, still, it's a large chunk of my life.

Two vestax decks left and right, used to have the proverbial technics 1210 (still have in boxes in the cuboard) But bought these a year or so ago after having the 1210's for eesh over 15 years I guess. And I prefer these vestax now, better in many ways.

In the middle at the bottom is a Numark dds-80, which lets me load mp3's and pictch control them like turntables, it also has a hard drive and cd/dvd reader in a second unit you cant see. So I can store mp3's on the drive, or play off cd.

Middle unit isnt really DJ related, more for sound production, though you can get some nice dj effects on the fly. Its a behringer ultra curve, a sound mastering box of tricks.

Top unit is the ole classic type mixer, usual tricks - eq on each channel etc etc. Nice clean sounding mixer, built like a tank.

:rocker:

Ahh am more into electronic music, but almost anything, electro, hard house, trance, drum n base, even down beat trip-hop etc. And have 1000's of vinyl still mostly old hardcore and the like from my mispent youth.

Got my heart on a set of pioneer cd decks tho :p

Pioneer are nice, some class equipement in the DJ world, which ones you after? Even their 'cheap' ones start at £250 odd, or you have big bucks to blow and getting the top of the range.

Why dont you go mp3 by the way?

very nice mate, makes my technic 1210s and numark dxm09 look pathetic. what you running out through usually?

Cambridge audio a1 se and 2 TDL saturn's here.

Budget system, but keeps me happy throwing some liquid dub around

The amp and speakers let the show down sadly. Though I've had my beady little eye on some KRK's for a while now, just need to stop flunking all my spare money on this computer :D

Something like KRK RP5. Certainly not the most powerfull speakers, but would fit just right for me, and KRK have a good name for studio speakers. They're active too, so no amp needed.

nice dude tidy setup, what do you mix?

Seem to mostly be into electro these last few months. Or more specifically what they might call fidget house. Though really I like all music. Trance, Drum n Base, House, hell I even have a few classical cd's :D

I'd like to get more hard house though, have many mix sets of such, but few singles.

My roots though lie in old UK hardcore, from the late 80's and early 90's, the breakbeat that was the foundation for jungle and drum and base. Acen, Tango and Ratty, 2Bad Mice, etc etc :D
