As you can see, I have no graphics card, reason is below.

My next plan of action is to sort out the black wires which are for the front panel USB, audio and firewire as I think they are a bit messy and can be bettered.

Then I'm going to fit the CPU fan with thermal paste and install my current graphics card which is an nVidia 7600GT as I'm in a dilemma of which graphics card to buy! Any suggestions welcome, I game at 1680x1050 and ideally would like it to last for around 2 years and be able to play Battlefield 3 when it comes out!

Sometime soon I'm going to get one of my Dads friends to cut a nice side panel so I can put some perspex in.

Hope you like it! Thanks - Steve

nice set up:p, I'm not too keen on the mouse tough :yumyum: i find that the buttons on the side get in the way. not in a get used to way, but in an uncomfortable/ keep knocking kind of way

Then dont install the software provided and it becomes the mouse of dreams.

Logitech = great hardware but sucky software.

I am a CSS addict (78% apparently) and use the side buttons to change weapons and scroll wheel for nades with prefire warnings. All scripted by me to do what i want (Yes i know geek but i wouldn't be here if i was anything else).

That some nice kit man OCing is daunting but fun try a gentle one for starters and you'll soon be bitten :D

For the graphics card I'd suggest either a 4850 or 4870 depending on how much you're willing to spend. With that P5Q, you've always got the option of going Crossfire at a later date which is handy.

Looks like it's shaping up to be a very decent rig, as others have said though go for an aftermarket HSF, it will be cooler as well as quieter and give you those overclocking options.

Well done on Uni mate, hope it leads to a very nice life with lots of computery stuff involved. :)

On the other hand, very nice computer. I love reading project logs. :p

And, BTW, this site did a review on the 4850 not so long ago, performs very well according to benchmarks. Although, cant promise it will run BF3. If I was you, I would go for something better like the 4870 or the 4870x2. Great performance from ATI at great prices.

Looking good mate! can't wait till you get it up and running, then i can build you the watercooling for it :D lol. Those ATI do look good, but i am a bit of a nvidia fanboy now...and i know you are too!

Whats a prefire warning? Ive got the same mouse, although myns 1600dpi (?). I find the buttons great for css, and im also a bit of an addict, altho i havent played as much recently.

Well i scroll for the nade that i want (where binds change for every scroll action) then i press fire (mouse1) and instead of throwing the nade I get a team chat warning saying something about the nade. Once i press the fire button again i throw the nade. I can right click at any time to cancel the action.

More prethrow than prefire. Would want to warn enemys about you prefiring now would you :D

I installed my 7600GT today so I can get it up and running. Thats all done and I'm in the process of installing everything so all I have to do is swap graphics cards and update drivers when I get one.

Anyway, here are some pictures, excuse the graphics card fan controller as that will obviously be gone when I get a new card.

Everything installed...

RAM, sorry for shake!...

I tidied up the black wires, they were drooping down to the PSU section, they are much better now...
