Ok..
So im sitting here waiting for the water block to arrive when i decide to get a house fan out and point it at the gpu and see whats what with it..

Turns out i was never getting more than 1.8v
and I was hitting the TDP limit causing throtteling as i tried to push it up.

SOO i went looking for a bios. and couldnt find one and eventually decided i had to edit my own.
After i did that flashed the thing then sat here hoping the pc would actually boot...
I went back to testing my card.

Seems i can get it to about 1.3Ghz at 1.21v which is not at all shabby.
I did try it at 1.38 but then i got TDR's and driver crashes. And i did not want to push my luck with my make shift cooling solution. So i called it a day.

here is a nice pic.

(i ran fire strike. got 9970)
and i decided to compare it with a similar scoring 780ti
http://www.3dmark.com/compare/fs/5443547/fs/5436004

i was quite suprized how close the scores were after seeing how badly my i5 scored compared to an i7..

Really looking forward to the water block arriving now.
i can probably tweak the ram a bit more then, but without any temp monitors for those i really dont want to take the pee..

Im pretty sure that this is a reasonably decent 780.
I may or may not update this thread after the block arrives..
I do assume my OC will be about the same given that i was hit with TDR's and not a thermal throttle
so all it really should do is drop the temps down nicely so i can concentrate on the ram..
Any kind of luck i can hit 10k points woot lol.
"its really for gaming so im not going to go 1.3v or something stupid just to achive that"

Ok..
So my xspc block arrived (it did come with a back plate that i did not expect so was a reall bargain!

drained the loop Hooked it up to the loop so it goes
Res > pump > GPU > 240 rad> cpu > 240 rad > res
(no reason for that lay out other than it worked the best for the tubing)

Its still bleeding now (i can hear the air work its way through still)
Any way decided to run fire strike now to compare temps..

And
TADAAA
10k
