I hope this is something that im actually allowed to post here..

So my first time overclocking, have a 4770k, H105 and a Maximus 7 Hero.
I didnt spend much time trying to see what the lowestIi could run stock was. 1.05v wouldnt boot Windows at 36 multiplier, so I went up to 1.1 and got in, and kept stable with OCCT linpack AVX. Then I put memory in at rated (1600 9 9 9 24 1.5v) which crashed when the memory loaded up in OCCT. However I rebooted and it was stable after 2 other 30min runs. i went to to 40 multiplier (still 36 on cache) which needed 1.175v to boot. this then passed OCCT AVX for 1hr, i cant remember the temps but i think i was about 70. After this passed i went to play Planetside on it, which was not stable, crashing the system twice in 48-96vs48-96 fights, not something id seen before with my rig in the sig. Maybe that was the RAM loading up suddenly and crashing, ill try it at 1333 later..

Saved profile and loaded defaults, but will give the OC another shot tonight.
i was worried about the cpu inital boot voltage though. i assume it only is at that for .1 seconds or something but 1.7 volts scared the shit outta me..
also OCCT reported 1.7 volts V-core. i thought V-core was the volts id set to 1.175.. so when i saw that i shat myself..

This is what im at right now..

CPUZ is the one to watch for vcore - programs can read things in the bios wrong.

Ive done an overclocking guide - you should look it up. Start from the beginning and get things set up right before you start to wang things. Also work on one thing at a time - basically FOLLOW MY GUIDE

thats what ive been looking at, just the change in BIOS has been confusing me.. and yeah ive been trying to only do one at a time, but i think i changed stuff before it really was stable, i only thought it was..
