My final decision

Ok, I don't think I'll get an X58 motherboard because:
Mobo $150
SSD $70
Optical Drive $30
Cooler $50
RAM $70
= about $350, so I decided to get a Z77 system instead, costs about $600 more which isn't that bad.
The above parts all need to be replaced and I'm still not sure if the CPU works or if the CPU is the problem in the first place.
This is what I'll buy:
i5 3570k $235
MSI Z77 MPower $240
Samsung 830 120GB $105
Rugged 1TB Portable USB3.0 $120
Corsair Dominator Platinum 8GB $115
Optical Drive $25
XSPC RayStorm Chrome Eidition $100
Tubing, fittings, fans (corsair SP) etc... $100
Sleeved cables & metallic silver marker $40
About $1000, this is what I'll buy.
So it's a black and silver PC !!!
I already have:
Corsair 800D :( (all the fans will be intake and the 360 rad on top will be exhaust)
MSI Lightning GTX580
2 x 1TB HDD
Corsair AX850
the rest are in my sig...

So is it a great system? what can I improve?
I will not be upgrading until 2014, I don't like haswell and I think my GTX580 is more than enough.
2014/2015 I'll buy a whole new system, with whatever CPU and GPU comes out with new monitor, mouse, keyboard and Case (800D sucks) etc... :)

It's the best platform choice for sure at the moment.

Have you chosen the mpower Mobo just because it's black? I'd consider an as rock board which would save you quite a lot of money.

Also that RAM is very pricey! I'd get some geil black dragon RAM to suit the colour scheme (although they are black not silver).

Just a few options to give you something to consider which might save you some cash.

And you'll also need a pump for the water cooling! Vario d5 is the most recommendable. I can't see one in your post!

I was doing for the Sabertooth Z77 but I saw the MSI MPower and I loved it.

It doesn't have all the useless features that ASUS have like thunderpolt, on board audio, triple SLI chips etc... which make them expensive.

I'm painting the yellow bits with metallic silver.

Initially I was going for black and gold colour scheme but I didnt like it, black and silver is nicer.

I'll look for metallic silver paint to paint the rings of the corsair air fans

The ram is perfect because it is silver :) and the cheapest dual channel ram out there is gskill for $70 so $30 isn't too much.

thanks for the pump recommendation. At the moment I have a res, pump combo but I'm considering buying a pump because I think the one in the res is week, or is it?

I will make a completely new system in 2015 maybe, by then I'd have starting working hopefully and make a massive system :)

this system is more than sufficient for now, I'll be using it for about 2.5 years, hope it survives.

You really need an optical drive?
And I thought you'd already bought an Intel 520?

I only ordered but the samsung 830 128GB is only $100, $150 less than intel 240 which is more than enough.
My optical drive isnt working and the one im getting is $25 only to instal windows.

wouldn't you love dat board ! :D:D:D:D:D:D:D:D:D

i love the look of that board but would rather get the GD65

"Has a owner of an MPower, I definitely advice getting one, not only is this board gorgeous its very well build and I was able to easily push my 3570k to 4.7. Check my buildlog in my signature. I was also originally considering the GD65 that was until I saw the MPower for sale, bought it in a heart beat, and do not regret."
