Ok so I got hold of a power meter that measures power usage/wattage among other things.
Ok here is my basic PC specs
MOBO: Asus P7P55D deluxe
CPU: i7 870 @3.5GHz
Video: Asus DirectCu 1GB GTX460
HDD's: SSD and single WD green 1TB
PSU: Mid ranged Coolmaster 550w (My corsair PSU was playing up this is a fill in)
Any ways here is some power usage of just the computer its self.
Idle = 136w to 144w
100% video card load using MSI kombustor = 310w to 320w
Same as above + 80% CPU load (burn in test) = 378w to 385w
Run of unigine (Settings below) 2.5 (see pic) = 280w to 285w
Asus VE246 Monitor
I tested the monitor with a few different colour's displayed at full screen with black white, the primary colour's of light and yellow being the final primary colour of a paint pallet (yellow is made up of 225 of green and red)
225 White: 23.3w
225 Black: 24.7w
225 Red: 24.5
225 Blue: 24.6
225 Green: 24.5
Yellow: 24.0
The usage did stay at a very steady power usage at full screen.
It is only a little difference but I was surprised that white used the least power.
Logitech G19 with key color changes
off: 4.3w
225 Red: 6.0w
225 Blue: 6.1w
225 Green: 5.9w
225 All(white): 7.7w
Logitech Z-5500
Standby: 10w
on, No music: 42w
(^Turning the volume up and down made no difference^)
100% volume no bost, Sub full: 45w
Intel P4 3.2ghz PC
Idle: 160w
Rear projection TV
Watching standard TV: 61w
My server
on boot it uses about 135w I figure this is about what it would use is PC's are accessing it on my network (very light use)
idle: 131w I might try get this down a bit.
Specs:
Intel core 2 Due E7300
Asus P5Q Pro mobo
1gb RAm
6 green rated HDD's
Asus 9800GTX+ DK
I will add more information to this post including the power usage of monitor and other devices including the G19
LCD projection TV
111.1w
