Is this card any good? I am building my first S.939 rig for mainly video editing and mocking around with o/clocking for the first time. I now have:

DFI Lanparty UT NF4 Ultra-D

Opteron 146

Geil Value 1Gb PC3200 Dual Chan DDR Kit (2x512MB) (Cas 2.5 6-3-3)

and my new card http://www.3dfuzion.com/cards_6200_pci_128.asp

Got the card £35.00 on sale from my local PCworld. Not bad for a PCI, right.

What are my chances of o/c to maybe 2.7ghz with this setup.

Plase can you also suggest a budget but decent heatsink to use and paste.

Thnaks guys :worship:

um is that a pci or pci-e graphics card ?

a good cpu heatsink is the akasa evo 33

Its just a Pci. I noticed a lot of the budget PCI-E has TC with them

The card will not be good for all modern games - it will play them but not at a very good res r with high details

OK if you don't play games tho :)

yeah if its pci it will be prity poor at games and will make that motherboard kinda pointless unless u want to upgrade to pci-e graphics later

With RivaTuner it is quite easy to unlock the extra pipes of the 6200 (non Turbo Cache one) and with overcloaking it should perform like a 6600.

This one of the reason I bought a 6200 a year ago and it was half the price of a 6600.

Even after overcloacking do not expect great performance with the latest games.

the recent pny 6200s dont have the extra pipelines, they use nv44 chips. if youve got a nv43 your sorted.

also, the 6200 i have was not an easy one to overclock, needed to flash the bios with a custom one

(even got a green welcome note:cool: )

i got mine up to 420/520
